More than 275 volunteers from local businesses, community groups and churches; partner with us every month to help those in need. From serving meals and cleaning, to childcare and mentoring, your time and talent can bring hope and healing to others.
The first step to volunteer is to complete the volunteer application. Which will give us some information about your interests and availability.
Once we receive your application, we'll contact you to set-up an interview and a tour. In the meantime, please check out our guidelines for a successful volunteer experience.
If you have volunteered with us before, please email or call 509-525-7153 to let us know you are ready to partner with us again.
If you have any questions, email or call Jeannette Regalado at 509-525-7153 ext. 114.
The Christian Aid Center is proud to be the only location to offer two nutritious meals a day--breakfast and dinner--every day of the year, to anyone in our community who is hungry or in need. This program is powered by the many volunteers representing churches, businesses, organizations, civic groups and clubs, or families and friends; who donate of their time and sometimes even food supplies to cook and serve our guests. Another essential component of this program is the many in-kind donations we receive from grocery stores, schools, restaurants and individuals; which are used to prepare the meals. In total, we serve approximately 47,000 meals a year.
Breakfast: 7:30 am daily
Dinner: 5:30 pm daily
Our community dining room is located on 4th Street, between Poplar and W Birch Streets.
We give away donated food at the same time as when we serve meals daily: breakfast at 7:30 am and dinner at 5:30 pm.
Our goal is to be a place of hope and encouragement for women experiencing life’s struggles. Whether it is to get in from a cold night or a desire to start fresh, our caring staff will walk alongside our guests to help them meet their physical, mental and spiritual needs that brought them to homelessness.
Upon arrival, all guests go through an intake interview and create a "Life Action Plan" with a staff member. During their shelter stay, our guests may choose one of the following two options:
Healing Home: A life-transformation recovery program lasting from 12 – 18 months, for women who desire to step out of the cycle of destructive patterns that are connected to addiction, trauma and broken relationships. The program consists of three primary components—overcoming addiction, life skills development, and spiritual growth and discipleship.
Connections: An extension program for guests working independently to obtain employment or housing.
INTAKES: To inquire about staying here, call our main number at 509-525-7153, or come during the hours of 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. For help after hours, please call or ring the buzzer at the door.
If you have questions or want to find out more, email us or call 509-525-7153.
