You Can Help Someone Leave Homelessness For Good
Helping people transition out of homelessness requires resources—and all of ours come exclusively from generous donors. In fact, this ministry has been funded solely by this community since its inception more than 75 years ago.
To continue this mission of helping people in crisis, we rely on your ongoing commitment to keep the CAC running. Here are a few reasons why we need your financial support:
Every day, an average of 120 men, women and children are served in some capacity as they make the journey to a more hopeful future.
It costs $3,000 to run the shelter each day. This includes food, utilities, maintenance, salaries, and necessities such as toilet paper, laundry detergent, and eggs.
We are committed to helping people create lasting change that frees them from homelessness for good. For that purpose, we have hired additional personnel to walk alongside our guests while they take on the hard work of change.
We are proud to have found a creative solution to aid in our need for increased personnel in the form of partnerships with our community members. Walla Walla University and the CAC have developed an internship opportunity for students in the Social Work program.
Volunteers are vital to the CAC. We wouldn’t exist without the help of nearly 300 volunteers every month. On any given day, 20 of them are on campus serving food, caring for children, teaching classes, cutting hair, collecting food, and organizing donations. In addition, registered nurses provide basic medical care and education in our on-site clinic.
